Great Day at the Caley

We had a very successful day at the Caledonian Marts Premier Show and Sale in September, winning the overall championship with an April born Charolais x heifer.  She scaled 200kg and sold for £2000 to the judge, Neil Slack, Penrith.

We also won the Autumn born championship with our September born Limousin x steer by Craigatoke Butch, he later sold for £2000 to June Dowie, Balluskie.  We then sold a November born Limousin x heifer by Craigatoke Butch for £2,100, she was the opposite sex to the Autumn born Champion.  An April born bullock by Craigatoke Butch was next, he sold for £1400 followed by our second prize Autumn born Limousin heifer who was bought by Craig Malone, Corbiewood for £1500.  Our fourth prize Limousin heifer sold for £1250 to Murray Rainnie, Logie Coldstone, which was then followed by further sales at £1300 and £950 for our two autumn born Limousin x bullocks.

We also won champion pen of four cattle with our four red Limousin cross heifers.  They tipped the scales at 410kg and sold for £1250 per head to Will Owen, Wales.
