Highland Ponies

Registered Highland Ponies have been bred at Newton of Logierait for many years. There are currently four broodmares running with the resident stallion, McNab of Denmill (sired by Balmoral Moss).

The aim is to breed good quality, traditional Highland Ponies with excellent temperaments, which will excel in the show ring.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of time, the Highland Ponies are not shown by the Robertsons, however many have been shown to a very high level once sold from the farm. A large selection of quality youngstock are currently for sale.

A number of Logierait Highland Ponies have achieved fantastic results in the show ring, the highlights include:

  • Jamie of Logierait: winner of numerous Championships in England with Sian Elphick, his main achievement were being placed 2nd in his ridden class at the Ponies UK Summer Show in 2008. His half sister, Lucky of Logierait, is one of the resident broodmares.
  • Torridon of Logierait: produced by Joanna McCormack and sold down South for a considerable sum of money, Torridon's Dam, Roseabell of Logierait is one of the resident broodmares. Roseabell continues to produce several high quality foals and two of her daughters have been retained for broodmares
  • Garry of Logierait: (Hazel of Logierait x Blair Athol of Whitefield): sold to Alison McLeod and will be used by Alison as a working stallion
  • Rhum of Logierait: Reserve Champion first time out and sold by Alison McLeod to a family down South who hope to qualify him for HOYS.
